It is Global Diversity Awareness Month and at Husqvarna Group we are taking the opportunity to bring our leaders on a Diversity & Inclusion journey. During October our 1500 people leaders will participate in live training sessions on diversity and inclusion. We spoke to Maria Laura Picciolo to get us up to speed on the event.

During October we join the Global Diversity Month. An opportunity to shine a light on the positive impact that a diverse culture of people can have on a society as a whole. At Husqvarna Group we're planning a number of internal activities such as articles, blogs and a lunch and learn. The biggest happening however, is our Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Boost - a live training session for our 1500 people managers.

The activity is part of our Diversity & Inclusion strategy which includes three new targets and activities ranging from improving diversity in all hiring processes to training all employees in D&I before 2023.

Maria Laura Picciolo is our Project Lead for Diversity & Inclusion and in charge of the D&I Boost.

Hi Maria Laura! Why do a D&I Boost?

Creating and achieving a culture in which diversity and inclusion is integrated starts with our leaders and them having the tools to lead in an inclusive way. Through different diagnostics, such as a Group-wide survey and interviews across the organization we know that we need to bring our leaders with us on our D&I journey in order to be successful.

What will our leaders learn during the training session?

The D&I Boost is an interactive journey composed by several call to actions on inclusion. Our leaders will first hear from our top management why diversity and inclusion is important for us, and what it means for Husqvarna Group. Each manager will also participate in a three hour session, where we will learn to create psychological safety and challenge the thinking on how to lead a team.

What is unique about the D&I Boost?
Our pioneering spirit at Husqvarna Group is reflected in this initiative. Engaging our entire leadership by reaching out to our 1500 people leaders across the world is a real statement. The Boost is designed to be a journey of interactions where we re-connect, learn from each other and demonstrate how D&I is a strategic asset for our future.
