- Hosted by Chicago Athenaeum, USA, the world's oldest design award celebrated its 71st anniversary this year

Hyundai Elevator (CEO Song Seung-Bong) announced on the 27th its winning of the Good Design USA Awards 2021 of the building materials category, with its Designer's Edition Chris Lefteri Design (CLD) which collaborated with the British star designer Chris Lefteri.

CLD was first introduced in the International Lift Expo Korea in September. It is a premium line that collaborated with Chris Lefteri, who has obtained international reputation in design and material through his works with DuPont, Landrover, Jaguar, and other globally renowned brands. CLD attracted great attention from others in the related field during the expo.

CLD comprises of four different concepts: Luxury Journey, which expresses the grace of a luxurious travel; Boutique, which resembles the lobby of a premium hotel; Elevator as a Product, which emphasizes that an elevator is a special space in itself rather than a mere part of a building; lastly, Emotional Shelter demonstrates that an elevator is a place in which one can take a momentary break from the hectic daily life. It was submitted to Good Design USA as a piece titled "The Third Space".

Good Design USA celebrated its 71st anniversary this year. It is the oldest design award in the world and hosted by the Chicago Athenaeum in the USA. Companies from approximately 50 nations around the world, including Fortune 500 companies, will submit their works to the award.

Christ Lefteri commented, "I am honored to share the glory of this award. Hyundai Elevator was a perfect collaborator for producing high quality design through cooperative processes."
