The Hyundai Elevator Labor Union, Hyundai Elevator, the Chungju District Office of Employment and Labor, and the Chungbuk/Eumseong Regional Office of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU) signed a 'Joint Declaration on the Mutual Benefits of Labor-Management-Government' on December 6th.


The declaration states that the company solidifies the foundation of trust between labor and management through transparent and ethical management, the labor union seeks to improve corporate competitiveness through continuous competency development, and the Labor Office provides administrative support to maintain employment stability and cooperative labor-management relations under the consensus that labor-management cooperation is corporate competitiveness.


Hyundai Elevator Labor Union Leader In-su Ju, Office Worker Labor Union Leader Min-wook Yoon, CHO See-buam Park, Director of the Chungju District Office of Employment and Labor Jeom-seok Lee, and Chairman of FKTU Chungju/Eumseong Regional Office Min-hwan Jeong pledged to the declaration.


Labor Union Leader In-su Ju said, "I find it meaningful that labor, management, and government came together to contribute to the development of the Chungju local economy and labor-management culture." CHO See-buam Park responded, "We were able to stabilize early after relocating the headquarters thanks to the help of various local organizations, including the Chungju District Office," adding, "We will do our best to lead the local economy and contribute to the advancement of labor-management culture."


Founded in 1984, Hyundai Elevator's labor and management have grown through mutually beneficial cooperation under the motto of 'Donghaeong (Companion).' The company became one of the top 100 excellent companies in job creation in 2014 and received the Industrial Service Medal for Labor-Management Cultural Merit in 2015. The number of executives and employees has more than doubled to 2,600 in 10 years from around 1,400 in 2013. It is pursuing shared growth with about 460 partners.


Office Worker Union Leader Min-wook Yoon said, "Our union members will work with the company to improve customer satisfaction." Director Jeom-seok Lee remarked, "We will make every effort to spread the labor-management culture of mutual benefits in the region based on the joint declaration."


Hyundai Elevator, which moved its headquarters to Chungju in 2022, operates a smart campus with an annual production capacity of 25,000 units with 4th Industrial Revolution technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and logistics automation and eco-friendly systems such as solar power generation applied.
