InPost builds electric charging stations for expanding electric car fleet

New service is part of InPost's zero waste strategy

InPost S.A., the leading European e-commerce delivery platform, has announced plans to build a network of electric car charging stations in collaboration with GreenWay Polska. These stations will be located at InPost distribution centres and at InPost parcel machine across Poland.

"In terms of innovative green solutions, InPost is the most modern logistics company in Europe and, as such, we refuse to rest on our laurels. We're proud to have Europe's largest out-of-home network of parcel collection points which allows us to reduce our CO2 emissions by 75% more every day relative to our courier competitors," says Rafał Brzoska, the CEO of InPost.

"We have the largest fleet of electric cars in Poland, and we continue to invest heavily in its expansion. Another ambition of ours is to make our InPost parcel machines fully autonomous and environmentally-friendly which is why we're currently installing photovoltaic panels and surrounding our lockers with anti- smog blocks. Now, we are implementing the next step; electric car charging stations. In the future, InPost parcel machines will not only be a multi-service postal point which allows you to receive and send parcels, but also an autonomous, eco-friendly charging station, where you can charge your phone, scooter or car."

To prepare for the electrification of our fleet this summer, InPost conducted a tender for the construction of the appropriate infrastructure, delivery, and installation of charging stations, along with the management and service of these charging stations in all its logistics centres. To date, this was the largest electromobility industry tender in Poland.

GreenWay Polska will supply and install AC and DC charging stations at InPost logistics centres as part of the project. The company will also manage and service the chargers.

"The electrification of a car fleet means not only buying the cars, it requires the installation and preparation of all the necessary charging infrastructure. Cooperation with InPost is the biggest electromobility project for our business in Poland so far and we are delighted that we can help our partners to reduce their carbon footprint," says Rafał Czyżewski, CEO of GreenWay Polska.

In addition, InPost is adding hundreds of new electric vehicles to its fleet, including over 250 Nissan e-NV200s and 10 Mercedes Benz eSprinters. The cars will be used by couriers and for deliveries to InPost parcel machines in cities partaking in the Green City programme. This expansion marks another important step in the development of InPost's "Green City" concept, a package of modern, ecological services for Polish cities, which is already being implemented in Sopot, Rzeszów, Łódź, Cracow, Kielce, Wałbrzych, Częstochowa, Rybnik, Białystok, Chełm, Wrocław, Bytom, Gorzów and Zielona Góra.

The "Green City" programme supports the development of Polish cities

according to the "smart city" concept. This concept offers modern services to residents through developing an optimal and ecological InPost network while taking actions to improve air quality and climate protection. The "Green City" programme is part of InPost's long-termstrategy which covers a wide range of innovations and ecological initiatives. The programme also allows for the development of a number of modern services for residents, namely electric chargers at InPost parcel machine points, the development of environmentally-friendlytransport, and the building of air-purifyingplants. Additionally, as part of the programme, InPost partner cities will gradually replace their delivery fleet with electric cars. InPost is also installing anti-smogpaver blocks at key locations which will further support its efforts for clean air.
