With many Australian communities experiencing severe weather and floods, IAG and its brands including NRMA Insurance, CGU and WFI are supporting impacted customers and communities across multiple states with immediate support and are ready to move into flood affected as soon as it is safe to do so.

In South Australia, there are currently nine emergency flood warnings in place for communities along the River Murray. At this stage, it's expected further floodwater rises downstream will continue until mid-January affecting the regions of Mannum, Murray Bridge and Wellington.

Over in The Kimberley region of Western Australia, the community has experienced some of the worst flooding on record following Tropical Cyclone Ellie which moved through the areas of Broome and Fitzroy Crossing in early January. The resulting floods have been declared an emergency situation with evacuation orders in place for residents in Fitzroy Crossing.

The Far West New South Wales town of Menindee is currently under an evacuation order where major flooding is occurring along the Darling River. Flood levels are expected to reach 10.5 metres this week.

We encourage all residents in these regions to stay safe and alert by listening to the advice of their local emergency authorities and taking action to evacuate if necessary. For our customers who are safe and have phone or internet access, we encourage them to lodge their claims as soon as possible so we can provide essential and immediate support such as temporary accommodation and emergency financial assistance.

"We're triaging claims as soon as they're received and contacting customers to discuss their situation, as well as the immediate help and support that we can provide. Our assessors and builders will be on the ground in the impacted communities once it's safe to enter the flood-affected areas. This will include conducting emergency make-safes to secure damages homes and to plan the repair or rebuild process which will get underway as soon as possible.

"The severe floods we've experienced over the past few years, and underway now, not only place lives at risk but have tragic consequences resulting in the loss of life.

"Please follow the advice of the emergency authorities, never drive through floodwaters, and we urge our customers to contact us as soon as possible for immediate support."
