ELYRIA, Ohio (AP) _ Invacare Corp. (IVC) on Wednesday reported a first-quarter loss of $14 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Elyria, Ohio-based company said it had a loss of 41 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs and to extinguish debt, were 36 cents per share.

The wheelchair, crutches and motorized scooter company posted revenue of $196.2 million in the period.

Invacare shares have dropped nearly 1% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 24% in the last 12 months.
