iQ Power AG announced the patent filing for the New Generation of electrolyte mixing parts, 'iQP2'. The new design of iQ Power mixing parts is based conceptually and structurally on the existing iQP1 parts. The new design is however a significant improvement on the previous one.

The improvements include a better and faster elimination of acid stratification in the battery. Acid segregation or stratification is a cause for battery failure. In addition, the iQ Power patented mixing device creates a small cooling effect in the battery cell, which can be important in hot climates.

The New Generation improvements also include a simpler and more robust design for better quality and reliability in the production process and a reduction of cost for tooling changes. The patent application is subject to approval of the patent bureau. Due to the fact that iQ Power now has Licensees on 4 continents, who produce batteries for differing markets and with differing methods, it is important to have a design that works in very different manufacturing environments and does not require special assembly skills or tight tolerances.

The details of the new technology will be made available only to Licensees of iQ Power technology and not be shown or advertised by iQ Power AG. With the new generation of mixing devices, iQ Power continues its Patent Pipeline Strategy, in which continually new developments are patented to prolong the life of patent protection and give more value to its Licensees.
