Jai Balaji Industries Limited announced unaudited standalone earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended September 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net sales/income from operations (net of excise duty) of INR 2,498.455 million against INR 3,504.995 million a year ago. Total income from operations (net) was INR 2,534.920 million against INR 3,555.317 million a year ago. Loss from operations before other income, finance costs and exceptional items was INR 728.031 million against INR 383.844 million a year ago. Loss from ordinary activities before tax was INR 1,698.797 million against INR 1,255.344 million a year ago. Net loss from ordinary activities after tax was INR 1,698.797 million against INR 829.400 million a year ago. Basic and diluted loss per share before and after extraordinary items was INR 23.03 against INR 11.24 a year ago.
For the six months, the company reported net sales/income from operations (net of excise duty) of INR 4,892.779 million against INR 3,857.844 million a year ago. Total income from operations (net) was INR 4,942.756 million against INR 6,955.751 million a year ago. Loss from operations before other income, finance costs and exceptional items was INR 1,304.985 million against INR 620.755 million a year ago. Loss from ordinary activities before tax was INR 3,189.324 million against INR 2,161.378 million a year ago. Net loss from ordinary activities after tax was INR 2,673.578 million against INR 1,428.271 million a year ago. Basic and diluted loss per share before and after extraordinary items was INR 36.24 against INR 19.91 a year ago.
Jai Balaji Industries Limited is engaged in the business of manufacturing of iron and steel products. The Companyâs products include sponge iron, pig iron, ductile iron pipe, ferro chrome, billet, thermo mechanically treated (TMT), coke and sinter with captive power plant. It has eight integrated steel manufacturing units spread across India in the states of West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Orissa and Jharkhand, and a diverse portfolio of value-added products, including DRI (Sponge iron), Pig iron, Ferro Alloys, Alloy and Mild Steel Billets, Reinforcement Steel TMT Bars, Wire Rods, Ductile Iron Pipes, and Alloy and Mild Steel Heavy Rounds, with a combined capacity of 27,40,000 plus tons per annum. The Company's actual production capabilities include approximately 4,45,000 tons per annum of direct reduced iron (DRI); over 509,250 tons per annum of pig iron; approximately 106,000 tons per annum of ferro alloys, and over 10,20,430 tons per annum of alloy and MS billets.
