JD.com Inc. said its profit and revenue rose for the first quarter, with an increased contribution from service revenues.

The Chinese e-commerce company on Wednesday posted net income attributable to ordinary shareholders of 3.62 billion yuan ($552.1 million), compared with CNY1.07 billion. Earnings were CNY2.25 per American depositary share, compared with CNY0.72 per ADS in the prior year.

Adjusted earnings per ADS were CNY2.47. Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting CNY2.17 per ADS.

Net revenue rose to CNY203.2 billion from CNY146.2 billion. Analysts were looking for CNY192.5 billion.

Net product revenues rose 35%, and net services revenues rose 73%.
