JD.com beats estimates for quarterly revenue

JD.com on Thursday Wall Street estimates for first-quarter sales. The market in home country China appears to be recovering after prolonged lockdowns.

Revenue for the quarter was 242.96 billion yuan ($35.15 billion), compared with analysts' average estimate of 239.42 billion yuan.

Profit was 6.26 billion yuan against a loss of 2.99 billion yuan a year ago.

In March, JD.com launched its first provincial-level home appliance and household goods store in Jintang County, Sichuan Province. In addition, JD.com launched a new flagship store for home appliances and electronics in Chengdu.

As of March 31, 2023, JD Logistics operated more than 1,500 warehouses.

The company also said it appointed Chief Financial Officer Sandy Ran Xu as CEO.
