TOKYO, April 2 (Reuters) - Funds related to activist shareholder Yoshiaki Murakami jointly own a 5.11% stake in Japanese chip materials maker JSR Corp, a regulatory filing showed on Tuesday.

JSR said last month that state-backed fund JIC was launching a tender offer for its shares after a Chinese antitrust review issue had been resolved.

JIC announced a $6.4 billion deal last June to buy JSR, a major maker of photoresists used in chipmaking, to drive consolidation within the sector in Japan. (Reporting by Kantaro Komiya; Editing by Jacqueline Wong)
