Possible increases in the number of coronavirus cases in autumn and measures to protect employees - the KGHM Medical Council members held a discussion about the pandemic and the medical care in the Copper Belt.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the KGHM has implemented a number of measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus among its employees. Vaccination campaigns, thermal cameras, disinfection, social distancing, and following all guidelines have yielded significant results. The company has not had any problems maintaining production in its branches. As recommended by the Medical Council, the company will not change its approach in the coming months.

Another topic of the meeting was the announcement of cooperation between the Copper Belt Health Center and the Lower Silesian Center for Rehabilitation and Orthopedics in Kamienna Góra. It will allow those residents of the Copper Belt who need it to receive help and advice from specialists in the treatment of orthopedic conditions.

The Medical Council of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. was established in 2019. It is composed of physicians, scientists, and KGHM executives. The Council supports and initiates all the campaigns of the KGHM and the KGHM Foundation that involve extensive local activities aimed to improve the health of KGHM employees and residents of the Copper Belt and the Dolnośląskie Province.
