Khulna Power Company Ltd. (KPCL) is a Bangladesh-based independent power producer (IPP). The principal activity of the Company is to generate electricity, to sell such generated electricity to Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and to acquire the fuel required for such electricity generation from home and abroad. The Company operates through generation and selling of electricity to Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) segment. The Company has two other units, KPCL-II, and KPCL-III. The Company has a nominally rated 110-megawatt (MW) liquid fuel-fired, convertible to dual fuel-fired (liquid gas), barge-mounted power plant in Khulna, Bangladesh. The Company supplies electricity to the national grid of Bangladesh by selling the same to BPDB.
