Kubota Corporation
Kubota Membrane U.S.A. Corporation (Washington, USA), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kubota Corporation (Head Office: Naniwa-ku, Osaka City; President and Representative Director: Yuichi Kitao; hereinafter 'Kubota'), received an order for a Membrane BioReactor (MBR) wastewater treatment system using submerged membrane units in the renewal and expansion project for the Big Creek Water Reclamation Facility (hereinafter 'Big Creek Facility') in Fulton County, Georgia, USA.

2. Background and Objectives
As the Big Creek Facility has aged over 50 years since it began operations, expanding the wastewater treatment capacity has become a challenge in Fulton County, Georgia. The current project is needed in anticipation of a continued growing population.
Moreover, an advanced wastewater treatment system is required rather than conventional wastewater treatment system because of the more stringent requirements to meet reclaimed water quality standards and protection of the local environment.
Fulton County decided to adopt a treatment process using the Kubota MBR for this project after visiting facilities such as the Canton Water Reclamation Facility-the largest Kubota MBR facility in the United States-and evaluating the performance, price, operational costs, technical proposals, and a variety of other aspects for similar projects delivered by Kubota.
The Big Creek Facility will become the second largest water reclamation facility using Kubota MBR in the United States after the Canton Water Reclamation Facility.
Comment from David Clark P.E., Director of Public Works, Fulton County
Fulton County is excited to incorporate Kubota's flat plate membrane technology into our largest water reclamation facility expansion project. The Big Creek facility is located in Roswell Georgia, serves approximately 50,000 wastewater customers in North Fulton County, and is centered around one of the fastest growing areas in the Atlanta region. Fulton County has been a strong proponent and user of membrane technology for over 12 years and believes that it is the best treatment option in returning the treated effluent back to the river system in a responsible manner for use by our downstream water neighbors. Kubota's recent advancements in flat plate technology will allow for easier maintenance of the system while allowing it to perform at its peak levels.
3. Future Prospects
Kubota has solved the wastewater processing challenges of customers with the delivery of MBRs to more than 6,000 projects worldwide. We constantly strive for a cycle of safe and secure water resources while also preserving the global environment by building infrastructure in the water environment field and leveraging the technologies and expertise that Kubota has cultivated thus far.
