Kuraray Co., Ltd. announced to form a new management structure; Keiji Taga has been appointed as Representative Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer from Director and Managing Executive Officer and Hiroaya Hayase has been appointed as Director and Executive Officer from Representative Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer. Keiji Taga's Educational background: Graduated from the Kyoto University, Faculty of Economics in March 1984. Career history: April 1984: Joined Kuraray Co., Ltd.; April 2011: Assistant to President of Fibers and Textiles Company; April 2012: Deputy General Manager, Purchasing and Logistics Division; April 2014: General Manager, Medical Division, Functional Materials Company; March 2017: Executive Officer; January 2018: Officer Responsible for Corporate Management Planning Office (Current position) and CSR Division; March 2018: Managing Executive Officer (Current position); March 2019: Director (Current position); January 2020: Officer Responsible for Administrative Unit January 2022: Officer Responsible for Corporate Sustainability Division (Current position), Global Digital Transformation Office and Accounting and Finance Division (Current position); January 2023: Officer Responsible for DX-IT Division (Current position).
Kuraray Co., Ltd. is the world's leader in the manufacturing and marketing of chemical products, resins and synthetic fibers. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
- chemical and resin (45.6%): functional resins and films, elastometers, thermoplastics, adhesives, fine chemistry products, etc. primarily for cosmetic products, televisions and mobile phones screens, foot packaging and paper manufacturing;
- fibers and textile products (29.8%): synthetic fibers and man-made leather, polyester, nonwoven textile products, resins, etc. sold under the brands Kuralon, Clarino Vectran and Kuraflex;
- functional materials (18.8%): methacrylic resin, medical chemicals, carbon materials, etc.;
- other (5.8%): primarily dental treatment and water purifying products.
At the end of 2019, the group had 52 production worldwide.
Net sales break down geographically as follows: Japan (27.1%), China (13.8%), Asia (12.3%), Europe (23.6%), the United States (18.5%) and other (4.7%).
