Manila Water Company, Inc. announced that in an order dated December 29, 2023, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) declared the case entitled, In the Matter of Labor Inspection Conducted at: Manila Water Company, Inc., Manila Water Ilugin Treatment Plant, 77 Sandoval Ave., Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City, with Case No. NCR-PFO-LI-2023-05-0023-GO and with Ref No. NCR-2023-05-PFO-LI-0169 as closed and terminated in view of the voluntary compliance by Manila Water Company, Inc. by paying the penalty of PHP 100,000.00 to close the matter.

The DOLE further noted the Manifestation of Manila Water explaining that it did not violate the DOLE's Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Standards. The penalty arose from an alleged violation of the DOLE's OSH Standards in its Department Order No. 198-18 and the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No.

11058 entitled An Act Strengthening Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Standards and Providing Penalties for Violations Thereof. Manila Water remains committed to continuously comply with the general labor and occupational health and safety standards and other applicable rules and regulations of the Department of Labor and Employment.
