Mediaset has announced a series of organisational changes at its Italian free to air channels, including the appointment of the first woman to be named a director of an Italian broadcast channel. Laura Casarotto, current Mediaset TV marketing manager, will take over as director of Italia 1, while Mediaset marketing information manager Sebastiano Lombardi has been appointed director of Retequattro. In addition, Marco Costa, the deputy director of Canale 5, will take over as head of the broadcaster's free to air thematic channels.

Former Italia 1 director, Luca Tiraboschi, has been named editorial director for infotainment programming, and current Retequattro director Giuseppe Feyles will become entertainment production coordinator in Rome.
