Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Namura Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Oshima Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. and Mitsubishi Corporation completed the acquisition of 30% stake in Ecovix Engevix Construções Oceânicas S/A.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (TSE:7011), Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Namura Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (TSE:7014), Oshima Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. and Mitsubishi Corporation (TSE:8058) signed a share purchase agreement to acquire 30% stake in Ecovix Engevix Construções Oceânicas S/A. for $300 million on October 22, 2013. Post acquisition, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. will own the majority of shares in Ecovix Engevix Construções Oceânicas. The transaction is subject to Brazilian antitrust authority approval.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (TSE:7011), Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Namura Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (TSE:7014), Oshima Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. and Mitsubishi Corporation (TSE:8058) completed the acquisition of 30% stake in Ecovix Engevix Construções Oceânicas S/A. on November 27, 2013. The transaction was approved by The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE).
Namura Shipbuilding Co Ltd mainly manufactures and sells ships, machinery and steel structures, and repairs ships. The Company operates in four business segments. The New Shipbuilding segment manufactures and sells various ships. The Repair Ship segment repairs ships. The Steel Construction and Machinery segment purchases the materials, manufactures marine equipment such as crankshafts. The Others segment is involved in the software development, sales of information equipment, equipment maintenance, security operations, ship maintenance and after-sales service and others.
