I. MoM Comparison:
In the performance of 2021, the annual consolidated operating revenue
reached 411.7 billion. In terms of profit, the consolidated net income
attributed to shareholders of the parent company was 81.3 billion, and
the EPS achieved NT$10.25. The annual revenue and profit both broke the
highest record in history.
In terms of monthly revenue, the consolidated operating revenue in
December 2021 was 34,539 million, decreased by 1,508 million (4.2% decline)
compared to November, with 210 million decreases in sales volume variance
and 1,298 million decreases in sales price variance. As a result of the
falling price of BPA and plasticizers and lower purchase volume by
customers at the end of the year, the revenue decreased.
1. Chemical products: decreased by 1,281 million
(sales volume -539, sales price -742).
a. BPA: decreased by 799 million (sales volume -615, sales price -184).
Lower prices of raw materials and products, and delayed purchasing from
customers, resulting in a revenue decrease.
b. Phthalate plasticizers: decreased by 601 million
(sales volume -485, sales price -116).
Due to the year-end stocktaking and stay-put strategy for the change of
Covid-19 pandemic in the downstream, fewer orders came in, resulting in
a decline in revenue.
2. Plastic products: decreased by 179 million
(Mainly from sales volume variance).
The Covid-19 pandemic and shipment issues affected sales volume, leading
to a revenue decrease.
3. Polyester products: decreased by 119 million
(sales volume -57, sales price -62).
As the Christmas holidays in the US, revenue decreased.
4. Electronic material products: The revenue remained smooth.
II. YoY Comparison:
Compared to 2020/12, revenue increased by 6,207 million (21.9% growth),
which included 1,086 million increasing in sales volume variance and
5,121 million increasing in sales price variance.
1. Electronic material products: increased by 3,167 million
(sales volume +1,350, sales price +1,817).
With continued strong demand, revenue had been thriving.
2. Chemical products: increased by 2,461 million
(sales volume +767, sales price +1,694).
Mainly from EG increased by 2,285 million
(sales volume +1,496, sales price +789).
With the completion of the EG-2 plant expansion in Texas and the 25.9%
increase in price, revenue increased.
3. Polyester products: increased by 765 million
(sales volume -298, sales price +1,063).
The cost of raw materials (PTA+33.0%, EG+25.9%) pushed up the price of
polyester products, leading to revenue growth.
4. Plastic products: The revenue remained even.
