Naturgy Energy Group SA said Friday that its joint venture Global Power Generation SA has signed an agreement to build a 97-megawatt wind farm in Victoria in Australia.

The Spanish energy company said the wind farm, which is located around 270 kilometers from Melbourne in Hawkesdale, is estimated to require an investment of 168 million Australian dollars ($125.9 million).

The contract consists of a 15-year power purchase agreement, with operations expected to start in the second half of 2022, according to Naturgy.

Global Power Generation is a joint venture between Naturgy, which holds a majority stake, and the Kuwait Investment Authority.
