The management team of Amplify Education, Inc. supported by a group of private investors acquired the Amplify Education, Inc. from News Corporation (NasdaqGS:NWSA) on September 30, 2015. As a result of the transaction, Amplify Insight and Amplify Learning businesses will be reflected in first quarter of 2016 as discontinued operations. The Amplify management team includes Larry Berger, will lead the company, Joel Klein, Kate Finnefrock, Laurence Holt, Leslie Kerner, Shannon Kete, Catherine Mackay, Jim Mylen, Pat Smith, Dave Stevenson, and Adam Zalisk, will serve as a board members.
Ariel J. Deckelbaum, Robert C. Fleder and Julie Martinelli of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP acted as legal advisors to the management team. Sheera Gross, Saee Muzumdar, Natalie Scott and Barbara Becker of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP acted as legal advisor for News Corporation (NasdaqGS:NWSA).
