Northern Bear : J Lister Electrical excel as organisation receives new accreditation and qualifications

Northern Bear is pleased to announce and congratulate J Lister Electrical in their recent success in gaining BAFE 'Installation of Fire Detection and Alarm Systems' accreditation as well as retaining FIA (Fire Industry Association) membership.

BAFE is the independent registration body for Third Party Certificated fire safety service providers across the UK and a national independent register of quality fire safety companies.

To gain the accreditation J Lister Electrical were required to:

• prove competence in the installation of Fire Alarm Systems
• implement a quality procedure
• train engineers to the required level of technical competence
• ensure procurement of certified materials
• install fire alarm systems in line with the relevant British standards BS5839 part 1 & BS7671 and provide documented evidence to support this.

Kevin Baxter, Fire Division Manager at J Lister Electrical Ltd said 'This accreditation allows us to work with companies in the fire alarm industry as a third-party installer where BAFE certification is required as well as complete our own installation work.'

J Lister Electrical were also proud to announce site manager Paul Cammidge's FIA NVQ qualification in Fire Alarm Installation. Kevin also added 'We are in the process of training more engineers when the courses become available. We have completed the Installation accreditation, the next will be Commissioning, Design and finally Maintenance; this will result in a fully compliant and accredited Fire Alarm Division within Lister Electrical.'
