Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., Ltd. has signed the business collaboration agreement with NuScale Power LLC, a developer of new modular light water reactors to supply reliable and abundant carbon-free nuclear energy, to support deployment of the NuScale Power Modules and other equipment. Under the terms, DHIC will review NuScale Power Module (NPM)s design for manufacturability, and also, DHIC will manufacture and supply key components for the UAMPS (Utah Associated Municipal Power System) project, the first SMR plant in the US. DHIC and NuScale expect that contract amount for equipment supply will be at least USD1.2 billion.

In addition, DHIC has also signed the unit purchase agreement where it makes cash equity investment in NuScale Power with Korean financial investors. The first module of the UAMPS nuclear plant is expected to go into commercial operation in 2026. The collaboration enables the companies to further build NuScaleââ â ¢s US-centered supply chain and accelerate its ability to deliver technologies.
