Optima Telekom announced consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and first six months ended June 2017. The company reported net profit fell to HRK 5.7 million ($895,600 or EUR 768,900) in the first six months of 2017, from HRK 6.3 million a year earlier. Total income dropped 4.6% year-on-year to HRK 217.7 million in the six months through June, whereas consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) edged down 0.2% to HRK 48.0 million. The company also saw a 8.3% decline in data revenue and a 16.7% drop in interconnection revenue on the first half, as compared to the previous year. These negative trends were partially compensated by the 11.6% higher multimedia revenue and 4.8% higher internet revenue. Consolidated capital investments in the first half of 2017 amounted to HRK 25.7 million. Capex in the first half of 2017 totaled HRK 25.67 million, mostly for the access network. The company ended the second quarter of 2017 with revenues of HRK 106.63 million, down by 8.2% compared to the same period last year. EBITDA still fell 2.1% to HRK 24.43 million. The net profit amounted to HRK 2.19 million.
