Pandora A/S announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was DKK 5,155 million compared to DKK 2,876 million a year ago. Operating income was DKK 1,301 million compared to operating loss of DKK 198 million a year ago. Net income was DKK 992 million compared to net loss of DKK 175 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was DKK 10 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of DKK 2.1 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was DKK 9.9 compared to diluted loss per share from continuing operations of DKK 2.1 a year ago. For the half year, sales was DKK 9,655 million compared to DKK 7,048 million a year ago. Operating income was DKK 2,204 million compared to DKK 5 million a year ago. Net income was DKK 1,621 million compared to net loss of DKK 199 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was DKK 16.3 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of DKK 2.1 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was DKK 16.2 compared to diluted loss per share from continuing operations of DKK 2.1 a year ago.
Pandora A/S specializes in the design, manufacturing and marketing of jewelry and related items. Net sales break down by product family as follows:
- charms and carriers (78%);
- other (22%): rings, necklaces, pendants, earrings, chains and diamonds.
At the end of 2023, the group had 6,686 points of sale (of which 2,651 concept stores) worldwide.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Denmark (0.1%), the United States (29.9%), the United Kingdom (14.4%), Italy (9.7%), Germany (4.9%), Australia (4.8%), France (4.5%), China (2.8%) and other (28.9%).
