Parker regional general manager set to retire in September

Warwick, UK, 31st March 2015 - Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, today announced the forthcoming retirement of Nigel Judd, regional general manager of its UK and Ireland sales companies. Mr Judd, aged 65, has decided to retire in September 2015, after almost 12 years in his current role and more than 25 years with Parker.

"Nigel has had a long and distinguished career with Parker, making a substantial contribution to the business over the years", said Joachim Guhe, EMEA president. "Nigel's leadership has seen the UK sales company grow significantly, and he was instrumental in building a highly successful hose assembly business and setting up a manufacturing facility in Warwick. He has represented Parker on numerous industry partnerships - most notably holding the position of president of the British Fluid Power Association from 2010 to 2013. His commitment to encouraging and supporting young engineering talent within the UK is demonstrated with Parker's recent donation of a hydraulic facility for The JCB Academy."

Having originally joined the company's pneumatic division as a sales and marketing manager, Mr Judd became actively involved in two company acquisitions that substantially increased the size and scope of the business. He later held the position of country sales manager for the UK, during which time he was instrumental in securing significant global automotive business. Finally, he helped to set up a new UK sales company structure, taking the helm as general manager in 2004 before being promoted to his current job in 2008.

Commenting on his forthcoming retirement, Mr Judd said: "It has been a privilege to lead such a talented team, and I will miss the wonderful people and relationships established over the past 25 years.

But the time is now right to pass the baton to the next generation of leadership. Parker UK and Ireland is in very good shape and I'm confident that my successor will continue the company's reputation for technical excellence and innovation in the years ahead."

Following the announcement, Parker will begin the process of finding Mr Judd's successor, to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
