Pepsico, Inc. (NYSE:PEP) plans to sell its bottling, sales and distribution operations to franchisees in the south and west, the two regions where it bottles soft drinks on its own, to focus on foods. Ravi Jaipuria, the promoter of $1.6-billion diversified RJ Corp, is keen to acquire the bottling operations of PepsiCo in India that his group does not already own.
