On 27 May, 2023 in Ha Noi City, at the Ceremony of Vietnam Industry 4.0 Awards (I4.0 Awards) - the 2ndtime, Petrovietnam Drilling and Well Service Corporation (PV Drilling) was honored and awarded in the category of Top Science - Technology (Sci-Tech) and Innovation Enterprise.

Following the success of the first Ceremony in 2022, Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations continued to implement the second Ceremony in 2023 to honor organizations/enterprises with outstanding digital transformation achievements and great contribution to national Sci-Tech achievements, promoting the development of Vietnam's digital economy.

2023 Industry 4.0 Awards was implemented nationwide with preliminary and final councils, in which the final council consisted of top experts and scientists. Through a fair and objective appraisal process, 180 organizations/enterprises were closely examined so that 65 enterprises with 79 digital products/solutions and 7 localities were selected out to honor in the following 4 categories: Top I4.0 Enterprises; Top Sci-Tech & Innovation Enterprises; Top Enterprises with intelligent digital products and I4.0 Technology Solutions; and Top Localities actively implementing Industry 4.0 and Digital Transformation.

For the first time to apply for Vietnam Industry 4.0 Awards, PV Drilling was honored and awarded "Top Sci-Tech & Innovation Enterprise". This award is the strong affirmation of our strategy direction and significant investment in digital transformation and information technology to support the Corporation's business operation with the highest level.

2007 was the time when PV Drilling started to provide drilling services. At this time, PV Drilling decided to significantly invest in information technology and digital programs to support business operation as well as upgrade corporate governance system in a modern manner so that the Corporation could enhance our capability in providing drilling and well technical services in Vietnam and in the ASEAN region.

Such corporate governance application systems as ERP Oracle (enterprise resource planning), Maximo (enterprise asset management software) and other management software have been implemented and put into application in the process of digitization, which has brought back many effects in business management and operation. Besides, PV Drilling has strongly applied the latest technologies such as cloud computing, big data management, online working digital platform, all of which have been integrated to form PVD Portal ecosystem as well as strengthen information security of the current digital platforms at PV Drilling.

Thanks to the advanced corporate governance system based on modern information technology platform, PV Drilling has improved our capacity in service provision, enhancing competitive strengths as well as business efficiency and consequently, we have received various prestigious awards during the journey of over 20 years of establishment and development such as The best oil and gas drilling contractor in Asia (2012, 2013 & 2015); The most admired ASEAN enterprise in growth-large company category awarded by ASEAN Business Award Committee (2013); Top 50 best listed companies in Vietnam (2013, 2014, 2015, 2022); Top brands (2016); Top 5 best corporate governance enterprises (2022), etc. In addition, the advanced corporate governance system also helped PV Drilling to maintain rig efficiency at high level and achieved Zero LTI annually for the owned rig fleet. Especially, during the peak of Covid-19 pandemic and global oil crisis, this digital transformation strongly promoted and greatly supported to our business operation, promptly provided information to managers at all levels to flexibly implement volatility management, optimizing resources, contributing to the completion of PV Drilling's annual business result as well as maintaining the continuity and stability of business operation in such difficult time.

Our digital transformation system, in fact, has experienced many difficulties and challenges; however, under the right direction of PV Drilling's management and the kind support from Vietnam Oil and Gas Group via the issuance of the Resolution about digital transformation and its actual plan, PVD Portal digital ecosystem has been promoted with the application of latest digital technologies, which plays an important role in supporting the Corporation to continue to develop toward sustainability in the upcoming time.

This prestigious prize will also be the incentives for PV Drilling to continue to innovate, promoting creative spirit, enhancing the implementation of digital transformation, strengthening internal resources as well as contributing to technological strengths of the domestic oil and gas in particular and the country in general.
