PIMCO Strategic Global Government Fund Inc. announced financial results for the first quarter ended April 30, 2012. For the quarter, the company reported net Investment income of $11,739,413 or $0.29 per share against $14,567,445 or $0.37 per share for the same period a year ago. Net realized and change in unrealized gain was $13,769,547 or $0.35 per share against net realized and change in unrealized loss of $875,756 or $0.03 per share for the same period a year ago. Net asset value was $9.31 against $10.08 for the same period a year ago.
PIMCO Strategic Income Fund, Inc. (the Fund) is a closed-end management investment company. Its investment objective is to generate a level of income that is higher than that generated by high quality, intermediate-term United States debt securities. It also seeks capital appreciation to the extent consistent with this objective. It invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in a combination of income-producing securities of non-corporate issuers, such as securities issued or guaranteed by the U.S. or foreign governments, mortgage-related and other asset-backed securities issued on a public or private basis, corporate debt obligations and other income-producing securities of varying maturities issued by United States or foreign (non-United States) corporations or other business entities, including emerging market issuers, and municipal securities (the 80% policy).
