AIK Banka a.d. is close to signing a deal to buy all Sberbank of Russia's subsidiaries in Southeast Europe, including those in Slovenia, Slovenia business news provider Finance reported on June 16. Last week, first deputy CEO of Sberbank Lev Khasis announced that the bank plans to reduce the presence of its banking business in European countries over the next two years, due to the deteriorating geopolitical situation. Sberbank Europe is present in eight European markets: Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Serbia and Slovenia.
