Polenergia is proceeding with the second phase of its green hydrogen storage project with a planned completion date of October 31, 2025. The anticipated total cost of expenditure incurred in the project's second phase will be approximately PLN 14.2 million (EUR 3.2 million) and will be covered by own funds and a grant. In September 2022, a consortium of Polenergia and its subsidiary heat and power plant Nowa Sarzyna and the Wroclaw University of Technology concluded an agreement with the National Centre for Research and Development for the funding of a project called H2 HUB Nowa Sarzyna: Green Hydrogen Storage.

As reported, the total potential grant funding for the project is PLN 95.1 million (EUR 21.71 million). The implementation of the project is divided into three phases. Polenergia said it would evaluate the project after the second phase's completion and decide on its further implementation in the third phase and how it will be funded, which may require relevant corporate approvals.
