PostNL N.V. Reports Earnings Results for the Third Quarter and Nine Months Ended September 30, 2023

PostNL N.V. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2023. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was EUR 719 million compared to EUR 707 million a year ago. Net loss was EUR 10 million compared to EUR 20 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was EUR 0.02 compared to EUR 0.039 a year ago. Basic loss per share was EUR 0.02 compared to EUR 0.04 a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was EUR 2,267 million compared to EUR 2,251 million a year ago. Net income was EUR 6 million compared to net loss of EUR 15 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was EUR 0.012 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of EUR 0.003 a year ago. Basic earnings per share was EUR 0.012 compared to basic loss per share of EUR 0.03 a year ago.
PostNL N.V. specializes in supplying mail, parcels and e-commerce services. The company also provides services in the area of data and document management, direct marketing and fulfilment. Net sales (including intragroup) break down by activity as follows:
- parcel delivery (58.3%): in 2023, PostNL N.V. delivered 343 million parcels in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg;
- mail delivery in the Netherlands (35.4%): 1,745 million postal items processed in 2023;
- other (6.3%).
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: the Netherlands (85.3%), Europe (8.5%) and other (6.2%).
