KALBE BEGINS STEPS TO BUILD CLEAN WATER ACCESS IN WONOGIRI

Jakarta, October10th,2022. PT Kalbe Farma Tbk or Kalbehas conducted several CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programs as a foundation of Access to Healthcare. Now, Kalbe continues steps to build a clean water access in Boto Village, BaturetnoRegion, Wonogiri. This donation by Kalbe was welcomed by the local government.

"On behalf of the government and people of Boto Village, we would like to appreciate this program by Kalbe Farma, which is intended for villagers in Boto," as stated by Edi Suroso Bambang Setiawan, the Village Chief of Boto.

He also stated that the help from Kalbe was in accordance with the local government, and hoped that this clean water access could be sustainable for the benefit of future generations in Boto Village.

"Our community shows their enthusiasm with this Kalbe program because they need access to clean water for their daily activities," according to Eko Nur Haryono, the Head of Distrrict of Baturetno.

Ekoalso suggested that the people should conduct an afforestation, since one of its benefits is to accommodate the water source. Constant afforestations could also affect the water supply.

According to Eko, "We hope that the clean water access in Boto Village can be commenced in other areas to be much more accessible."

He emphasized that access to clean water must become a joint, sustainable responsibility for fulfilling the daily needs of Boto villagers. On the other hand, Kalbe must also have a commitment to continue building processes of the clean water access.

"After this, we would like to continue our mission with field surveys and drillings, followed by assembling clean water pipes. Our team will then depart to Yogyakarta to directly purchase the pipes from our official distributor," as stated by S.F.D. Arie Wibowo, the Assistant Manager of Corporate Sustainability for Kalbe.

As an information, there were previously about 8.520Kalbe members involved in theInsan Kalbe Bergerakprogram. In the period of activities between August 27th to September 3rd of 2022, all participants managed to gather donations worth 211,657,966rupiah gained from various business activities.

The donation was later used for conducting the building plan of the clean water access as a foundation of Access to Healthcare. This also became a part of Kalbe's Sustainable Commitment, "Together We Heal the Nation."
