PT Kalbe Farma Tbk : KIMIA FARMA & KALBE FARMA COLLABORATED TO IMPROVE HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE SOCIETY

JAKARTA, September 1, 2023- PT Kimia Farma Tbk("KimiaFarma") and PT Kalbe Farma Tbk ("Kalbe") signed an MoU to form a synergy and collaboration in providing quality health services for Indonesians on Friday (Sep 1, 2023).

The MoU, which was on the Development of Strategic Cooperation in Health Services, became a strategic base for the two companies, including their affiliates or subsidiaries, to work together through various activities, events, and transactions.

At the same time,PT Medika Komunika Teknologi ("KlikDokter"), Kalbe's subsidiary that runs a digital-based health service and PT Kimia Farma Apotek("KFA"),Kimia Farma's subsidiary in the health retail sector, signed two cooperation agreements.

The first agreement was on online medicine redemption via digital or physical prescriptions through KlikDokter app and KALStore marketplace, with the meds being handed out at KFA's drug stores. The second agreement was on telemedicine services via video calls in Kimia Farma Mobile app.

David Utama, the CEO of PT Kimia Farma Tbk, stated that as a completely integrated healthcare company and as a part of pharmacy state-owned enterprises (BUMN) under PT Bio Farma (Persero), they continue to be committed in improving the quality and access of healthcare services for all Indonesians.

David explained that this strategic cooperation development MoU was a commitment by Kimia Farma and Kalbe to support the government's health programs through preventative and promotional efforts. This MoU also included marketing and sales collaborations of both companies via online and offline means.

According to Vidjongtius, during the early stages, the collaboration with Kimia Farma will be done via KlikDokter, Kalbe's subsidiary in digital-based health services. KlikDokter will work together with KFA on online meds' redemption process through their app for prescribed and OTC drugs - also via the KALStore marketplace for nutritional supplements and other types of health products. The next step would be a telemedicine service that would be done via video calls through Kimia Farma Mobile app.

Agus Chandra, the CEO of KFA, stated that through this collaboration with KlikDokter, KFA would spread the reach of their omnichannel ecosystem, working together with Kalbe Farma Group's ecosystem. Consumers and the society alike would be able to access online meds and physician services through the KlikDokter app, then prescriptions would be directed to KFA outlets from Aceh to Papua, from Talaud to Kupang.

"We are ready to provide physician's prescriptions for people who use the KlikDokter app. Our professional apothecaries in all of our outlets would prepare the meds and readily provide Kimia Farma and Kalbe's products. This way, KFA further emphasizes itself as an integrated healthcare ecosystem company, which goes in line with our new slogan: Ingat Sehat Ingat Kimia Farma (health equals to Kimia Farma)," Agus Chandra said.

Chandra stated that some of Kalbe's products had been made available in 1,246 outlets of Kimia Farma throughout all of Indonesia. People can buy Kimia Farma and Kalbe's products at Kimia Farma's outlets, be it through online or offline means.

"Through this cooperation, the consumers of KlikDokter can easily redeem the drugs that have been prescribed by the physicians via KlikDokter app. This way, consumers can access meds easier and faster. Consumers can also monitor the meds' delivery process so that they would be aware of the latest update of the delivery status," Hendra Tjong, the CEO of KlikDokter, said.

Hendra Tjong also added that doctors who had registered at KlikDokter could provide health consultation services through video calls via the Kimia Farma Mobile app. This app also included services like digital prescriptions, prescription redemptions, and meds delivery.
