Kembali ke HalamanLhokseumawe - Starting 2021, Perta Arun Gas (PAG) as the Operator of the only Bonded Logistics Center (PLB) for the LNG commodity in Indonesia has succeeded in reloading first LNG cargo with the international market as destination on 14 - 15th January 2021.

On this occasion, President Director of PAG, Arif Widodo, stated that this time, the LNG cargo reloaded was sourced internationally and one of the PLB user, using the Hongkong Energy Vessel (FOB) with the receiving destination at Caofeidian Terminal, Hebei, China.

"This success is worth to be celebrated since this is the first international LNG shipment from Arun's PLB (Arun LNG terminal) which is also the only LNG PLB in Indonesia. The last shipment of LNG cargo from Arun LNG Terminal was carried out in October 2014 in the era of PT Arun NGL. LNG loading activities to the ship ran smoothly with the laytime only 43,08 hours, shorter than the agreement between the seller and the buyer which is 60 hours. Moreover, its also shorter than the maximum laytime agreement between PAG dan PLB's user which is 77 hours." said Arif.

"Currently, LNG in Arun's PLB has 4 (four) units of LNG tanks with a total capacity of 460,000 M3, with 2 (units) tanks for LNG storage for domestically sourced LNG and 2 (two) units of tanks for internationally sourced LNG. The current operation of Arun's PLB, LNG commodity is imported from various sources, both domestic and international by PLB Tenants / Users LNG from Domestic owned by PLN is sourced from BP Tangguh to be regasified and sent for the demands of PLN power plant located in Lhokseumawe and other domestic LNG for the demand of Iskandar Muda Fertilizer (PIM). International LNG is re-exported to various destination countries based on the agreement between PLB tenants and buyers. The activity of receiving, storing and reloading LNG at this PLB is commonly known as the LNG Hub," added Arif.

Surkani Manan as Vice President of Corporate Strategic Planning & Business Development for PAG, also added that the success of this International LNG shipment is an important milestone for PAG and is a proof of PAG ability in managing PLB LNG with business and service characteristics, namely multi - users, various LNG commodities originated from various sources, various ownership, various destinations and end use of LNG. PAG's ability in managing PLB will strengthen PAG's positioning and goal to make Arun LNG Terminal as one of the most acknowledged LNG Hub players in the Southeast Asia Region.

Currently, PAG, together with its affiliates (sub holding gas) are studying the revitalization plan of 1 (one) LNG tank of PT Arun NGL ex Asset including the potential for investment in a new LNG tank, to increase the storage capacity of LNG Hub in the area. PAG is also planning on developing businesses at the location of ex Arun Asset, such as PLB for fuel oil bunkering, LNG bunkering, cold storage and O&M services for LPG Transhipment.

"The purpose of development of businesses in the ex-Asset area of PT Arun NGL is not only to achieve company's increase of revenue target but also to contribute to Aceh's economic development activities, especially through the creation of jobs for potential young generations," explained Arif.

Separately, Muchammad Munif, Head of the Customs & Excise Lhokseumawe, as the regulator's representative for the Arun LNG PLB, said he fully support and appreciate the operation of PLB LNG Arun. The establishment of PLB in Indonesia is part of the Economic Policy Package Volume II of Jokowi's administration, in which the initial goal of PLB is to obtain cost effective logistics and transportation, supporting investment activities, and hopefully create a multiplier effect on economic activities.

"The success of the PLB LNG Arun operation is certainly inseparable from the support of the PLB Regulator (customs & excise), including the support from other stakeholders. Every support from both internal and external of PAG is required order to operate the terminal safely and optimally," Arif concluded
