OAO Raspadskaya reported preliminary operating results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2012. In fourth quarter, the company's overall coal production increased by 59% compared to third quarter 2012 and reached about 2.2 million tonnes which was due to the growth of sales volumes of semi-hard coking coal concentrate. In fourth quarter 2012, extraction at Raspadskaya mine increased by 237,000 tonnes or by 31% compared to third quarter 2012 and totaled 1.0 million tonnes. In fourth quarter, sales volumes of semi-hard coking coal concentrate increased by 40% compared to third quarter 2012 and totaled ca. 1.4 million tonnes. The substantial growth of the sales volumes of coal concentrate was due to the recovery of domestic demand and increased export shipments.

In 2012, the company's overall production amounted to 7.0 million tonnes, i.e. about 70% of 2012 production plan. The main reason why the plan was not met was a sharp decline in demand for coal products in second quarter 2012 and third quarter 2012. In 2012, the coal extraction at Raspadskaya mine was carried out on 2 faces (4-9-23 and 4-7-25) and totaled to ca. 2.7 million tonnes, i.e. about 60% of the production plan. In 2012, overall sales volumes of coal products (semi-hard coking coal concentrate and hard raw coal) totaled 5,025 thousand tonnes.

In 2013 the company plans to increase extraction by about 40% compared to 2012.
