IS TOP TEN UNDERWRITER IN 2012

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The combined Public Finance platform of Raymond James and Morgan Keegan was the ninth leading underwriter of municipal bonds in the nation for 2012, serving as senior manager on 748 issues with a par amount of $12.1 billion, according to Thomson Reuters, one of the nation's leading municipal bond information services.

Baird called the firm's underwriting desk "if not the busiest in the country last year, certainly one of the busiest." In senior led and co-managed issues in 2012, Raymond James | Morgan Keegan completed 1,250 transactions with a total par amount of $86.9 billion, representing more completed transactions than any other firm in the nation, according to Thomson Reuters.

Other notable achievements in 2012:

  • For the 20th consecutive year, the firm dominated municipal bond underwriting in the South Central region of the U.S. (Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.), capturing a 15.6 market share.
  • In the Southeast region of the country (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia), Raymond James | Morgan Keegan completed more transactions than any other firm.
  • The firm ranked among the top five in the multi-family housing and schools sectors and in 11 states including Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Tennessee and Texas.
  • A top ten ranking was achieved in the airport, healthcare, water/sewer/gas and higher education sectors and in seven states including Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, South Carolina and Virginia.
