HSINCHU, Taiwan - May 25, 2023 - Realtek Semiconductor Corporation (Taiwan Stock Exchange: 2379.TW), a world leading network and multimedia IC provider, today announced the launch of the RTL9220DP high-performance storage solution, a single chip in a 10mmx10mm 88-pin QFN package that provides a USB3.2 Gen2x2 (20Gbps) interface and bridges dual-port solid-state drives. It supports PCIe 3.0x4 lanes NVMe1.3 or SATA Gen3 (6Gbps) Solid-State Drive (SSD) specifications, and can be used in portable high-speed SSD duplicators, flash drives, enclosures, USB dual-port card readers, docking stations, etc. It supports the Type-C connector.

The RTL9220DP supports JBOD/RAID0/RAID1 features to meet the advanced data storage needs of users. JBOD offers bulk data storage. RAID0 improves read and write performance. RAID1 mirrors data to dual disks to protect important data. In USB-to-SATA mode, the RTL9220DP supports SATA3, providing up to 6Gbps bandwidth per port. It has full backward compatibility for SATA Gen2/Gen1.

The RTL9220DP supports a dynamically switching power state with NVMe/SATA/USB power management in low power mode. It features an algorithm that balances power consumption and performance. The RTL9220DP's built-in Addressable RGB enables customized LEDs with no requirement for additional peripheral components, and uses programmable RGB to offer high-quality 'breathing' lights and magic color LED modes, satisfying needs for quality external storage devices with both high performance and attractive appearance.
