Rockwell Automation : Boosts Efficiency for Industrial Workers with Enhanced HMI Software

To provide a more efficient HMI experience for industrial workers, Rockwell Automation has enhanced its FactoryTalk View HMI software. The latest release includes updates to FactoryTalk View Site Edition (SE), Machine Edition (ME) and ViewPoint software.

FactoryTalk View v12 gives engineers a modernized design environment with a new look and feel, simplified user experience, and improved design efficiency. An updated application explorer allows users to logically organize graphic displays in folders and subfolders, and a new searchable toolbox makes it easy to find and add graphic objects to displays. The design environment user interface now matches that of Studio 5000 Logix Designer.

FactoryTalk View SE v12 delivers an improved operator experience, with expanded data access and enriched graphic displays. A new SQL database connector and data grid object provide critical information for making production decisions. Automatic diagnostics give operators access to device diagnostics provided by the Logix controller. Displays created with scalable vector graphics (SVG) graphics provide a better visual representation of the system operators are interacting with.

FactoryTalk View SE v12 also introduces a new redundant server license that reduces costs for users implementing a redundant HMI system. And it continues to add value to FactoryTalk ViewPoint by supporting the data grid object, automatic diagnostics and OSI PI data trending.

FactoryTalk View ME v12 adds industry-specific features such as a new XY plot, which can help improve quality by showing a machine's actual axis position against its planned route. In addition, enhancements to recipe audit functionality allow users to track recipe value changes to meet data integrity requirements.
