Rompetrol Rafinare announced consolidated earnings results for the first quarter of 2016. For the quarter, the company reported net profit of $40,000 million in the first quarter of the year, recovering from a loss of $517,852 in the like period a year earlier. Gross revenues fell 19% to $714 million in the first quarter of 2016 due to a significant drop in oil product prices. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) amounted to $34.9 million, recovering from a $10.7 million loss last year due to an increase by 3% in the amount of processed raw materials by Petromidia and Vega refineries to some 1.3 million tonnes.
