Sagar Cements Limited reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended September 30, 2022. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was INR 4,745.5 million compared to INR 3,689.3 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 4,894.8 million compared to INR 3,715 million a year ago. Net loss was INR 422.5 million compared to net income of INR 202.5 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was INR 3.76 compared to basic earnings per share from continuing operations of INR 1.7 a year ago. Diluted loss per share from continuing operations was INR 3.76 compared to diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of INR 1.7 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was INR 10,322.7 million compared to INR 7,615 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 10,596.4 million compared to INR 7,688.3 million a year ago. Net loss was INR 494.7 million compared to net income of INR 701.7 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was INR 4.86 compared to basic earnings per share from continuing operations of INR 5.83 a year ago. Diluted loss per share from continuing operations was INR 4.86 compared to diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of INR 5.83 a year ago.

Its products include Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), which manufactures two diverse grades of OPC: 53 grade and 43 grade; Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC), which is a type of blended cement that is equivalent to that of 33 grade; Sulphate Resisting Portland Cement (SRPC), which is intended for the manufacture of concrete and concrete-steel constructions; Portland Slag Cement (PSC), which consists of granulated slag, gypsum, and the clinker; and Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS), which is used as a partial replacement of cement in concrete. The cement produced by the Company is sold under the brand name, SAGAR. Its products are used for applications such as reinforced cement concrete works, precast concrete items, runways, and concrete roads and bridges.
