Faced with the challenges of decarbonizing the construction sector in France, for both new-build and renovation, Saint-Gobain Distribution Bâtiment France is helping its professional customers take greater account of carbon data when choosing construction materials and solutions.

Since October 2023, on the websites of Saint-Gobain Distribution Bâtiment France trading brands, professional customers will be able to choose from 100,000 listings complete with carbon indicators. The number of listings will rise to 140,000 by the end of 2023.

This initiative will also enable Saint-Gobain Distribution Bâtiment France to manage its Scope 3 decarbonization trajectory more precisely with its supplier partners, by encouraging them to go further in their efforts for measuring and improving the environmental and sanitary footprint of their solutions.

It has been made possible through a partnership with Kompozite, the independent materials library for low-carbon buildings design, awarded the GreenTech Innovation label by the French Ministry for the Ecological Transition.

This life-cycle assessment carbon data will include the main items on the Environmental and Health Declaration (FDES) and Product Environmental Profile (PEP) and will link to INIES, the reference environmental and health database for building in France, to ensure transparency and traceability for customers.
