SaltX Technology has been granted an EU patent for an electrified so-called 'calcium looping' solution where the company's innovation EAC (Electric Arc Calciner) forms a central function. The method means that carbon dioxide is captured from an emitter and bound with the help of lime and then transported to a central facility where the carbon dioxide is separated using the EAC technology.

The method also uses excess energy created during the capture process in the system, which reduces the total energy consumption for the process. Combined with the fact that the separation of CO2 does not need to take place at the capture site, it creates the conditions for a very cost- and energy-efficient solution for the end customer. Carl-Johan Linér, CEO of SaltX says:

"The patent opens up an exciting new market where our technology for electrification and CO2 separation has great potential to reduce CO2 emissions from industry greatly. The solution with separation and storage of CO2 at a central facility is unique, and we see a need for the solution in the market".

The solution means that industries do not need to make a significant investment of their own for CO2 separation and storage systems, which is a barrier to the increased implementation for industries.

About SaltX:
SaltX Technology is a Swedish green technology company that develops and markets sustainable technology that is beneficial to customers, the climate, and society. The company operates in electrification technology primarily for the lime and cement industry and large-scale industrial energy storage. SaltX Technology's stock is listed on the Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market. For more information, visit www.saltxtechnology.com.

About Electric Arc Calciner (EAC):
EAC is a patented technology for electric calcination, an industrial process where materials are heated to very high temperatures to alter their characteristics. The technology replaces fossil fuels with renewable energy and separates and isolates the carbon dioxide released from the material during heating, enabling a completely emission-free manufacturing process.
