Sapura Energy Bhd announced two new appointments to its executive committee, effective last Monday. Dominique de Soras is now the chief executive officer (CEO) of its engineering and construction (E&C) business while Norzaimah Maarof has been appointed as its new group general counsel. A seasoned oil and gas professional, de Soras brings with him more than 30 years of experience spanning transformation, petroleum engineering, operations management, business development and acquisitions and major project deliveries.

Over the years, he has honed his leadership in international and multicultural environments, with multiple assignments internationally. He has extensive experience as a board member of a diverse range of companies. He had joined Sapura Energy in July last year as deputy CEO of the E&C business segment and will now lead its Reset Plan.

Meanwhile, Norzaimah has almost 30 years of corporate commercial expertise across diverse industries, including renewable energy, healthcare, technology, pharmaceutical, chemical, agri-business and plantation. Well-versed in corporate and organisational restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and capital and debt markets with a strong governance, risk management, compliance and legal background, her niche lies in corporate transformations. She had held key positions in local and multinational companies.
