Schaeffler is one of the world's leading manufacturers of automotive systems, car and industrial components. The group also offers after-sale services. Net sales break down by area of activity is as follows:

- automotive (77.5%): manufacturing of engines and chassis components and systems, transmission systems and accessories, etc. ;

- industries (22.5%): manufacturing of industrial application systems (bearings, power transmission solutions, mechanical components, machine tools and production machinery subsystems, aircraft engine components, etc.).

At the end of 2017, Schaeffler operated 74 production sites worldwide.

Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Europe (51.2%), Americas (20.7%), China (17.5%) and Asia Pacific (10.6%).
