School Specialty, Inc. announced earnings results for the third quarter ended September 28, 2019. For the third quarter, the company announced sales was USD 278.512 million compared to USD 290.280 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 22.471 million compared to USD 37.230 million a year ago. Net income was USD 17.864 million compared to USD 18.556 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 2.54 compared to USD 2.65 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 2.16 compared to USD 2.63 a year ago. For the nine months, sales was USD 535.053 million compared to USD 558.839 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 3.479 million compared to USD 20.667 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 12.967 million compared to USD 104,000 a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was USD 1.85 compared to USD 0.01 a year ago.
