SEED Co.,Ltd. (TSE:7743) entered into an agreement to acquire an additional unknown majority stake in Universal View Co., Ltd. from INCJ, Ltd. and others on March 31, 2021. Under the terms, SEED Co.,Ltd. will acquire shares held by INCJ, Ltd. and 12 others shareholders and all preferred shares of Universal View. With this transfer of shares, the voting rights ratio of SEED Co to Universal View will be 94.2%. Post completion, Universal View will become subsidiary of SEED Co The transaction is expected to close on April 20, 2021.
SEED CO.,LTD. is mainly engaged in the research, development, manufacture and sale of contact lenses. The Company operates in two business segments. The Contact Lens and Care Products segment provides contact lenses such as hard, soft and disposable lenses, as well as care products such as preservation solutions, cleansing solutions, enzyme cleaning solutions, disinfectant solutions and cases for contact lenses, among others. The Glasses segment is engaged in the sales of eyeglass frame and eyeglass fixtures. The Company is also engaged in intraocular lens and other business.
