International stocks trading in New York closed mostly lower Wednesday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts fell 0.02% to 149.58. The European index decreased 0.05% to 150.17, the Asian index declined 0.02% to 163.44, the Latin American index rose 0.2% to 180.60 and the emerging markets index lost 0.1% to 270.72.

ADRs of Sernova's closed up 11% to $1.01 after the biotechnology company entered a preclinical research collaboration with AstraZeneca to evaluate the use of its Cell Pouch System in combination with AstraZeneca's novel therapeutic cells.
