Servizi Italia simplifies structure and incorporates subsidiary Ekolav

(Alliance News) - Servizi Italia Spa announced Monday that its board has approved the incorporation of its subsidiary Ekolav Srl.

This merger is part of a process of corporate simplification and reorganization initiated by the incorporating company with the aim of pursuing greater production synergies - in view of commercial prospects and with a view to harmonization and optimization of customer service - as well as the containment of general structural costs.

Servizi Italia's stock is down 0.6 percent at EUR1.60 per share.

Servizi Italia SpA is an Italy-based company primarily engaged in the provision of laundry and sterilization services for health care sector. The Company structures its business into three main segments: Wash-hire Services; Linen Sterilization (Steril B) and Surgical Instruments Sterilization (Steril C). In the Wash-hire Services segment, it provides laundry services to public and private hospitals and social care centers, including planning and delivery of integrated services for rental, disinfection, washing, packaging, collection and distribution of textiles, mattresses, pillow cases, curtains and hospital wardrobe, among others. In the Steril B segment, it is involved in the sterilizing of textile articles for use in the operating theatres of hospitals. In the Steril C segment, it is engaged in the sterilization and packaging of surgical instruments. It operates through Steritek, Finanza e Progetti SpA and Tintoria Lombarda Divisione Sanitaria Srl, among others.
