Digital Wallet Corp., a fintech company, has acquired Seven Bank Ltd.'s international money transfer service Seven Global Remit Ltd. With this acquisition, DWC's Smiles Mobile Remittance app users will have access to Seven Bank's ATM network, according to a press release.

Foreign workers in Japan can now access more than 50,000 ATMs in the country to send remittances back home.

"We started Smiles with the ambition to offer a fair, fast and affordable remittance service for our hardworking migrant workers," Eiji Miyakawa, founder and CEO of DWC, said in the release. "And because we made it happen, we've been receiving mass support from our customers and now we're number one in Japan."

Seven Global Remit customers will transition to Smiles soon, according to the release.
